Nick became president of his family’s company in 1980, with responsibility for the design and marketing of the Norman Hilton Collection, a highly respected brand of fine-quality traditional menswear with nation-wide distribution. Along the way there were additional responsibilities, from stylist and importer of John Smedley English knitwear, to appointment as agent for Burberry of London.
The Hilton family has outfitted American men since 1888 (hence the logo.) The likes of John F. Kennedy, George Bush (the elder,) Frank Sinatra and Wynton Marsalis have worn suits and jackets with a Hilton label. The family tradition, using fabrics of natural fibers, subtly colored and softly finished, tailored with natural, unpadded construction, lives on in the Hilton name and in the NH 1888 Collection. more

Gordon & Ferguson was founded in 1871 by Richard Gordon & Paul Ferguson to manufacture outerwear. It initially started with manufacture and sales of caps, buffalo coats and buffalo robes. In the early 1900s Gordon & Ferguson expanded its products to wool, gabardine and leather. It marketed its products under its brand Lift Ticket, Format, Toma & Field & Stream which became well known through out the USA.
In its 135 years of existence Gordon & Ferguson has manufactured outerwear for many an adventurous expedition. It designed and manufactured the first flight suit worn by Charles Lindberg for the first ever transatlantic flight, and this suit has found its place in the Smithsonian museum in Washington. Admiral Richard Byrd’s expedition to the North and South Pole was also outfitted by Gordon & Ferguson. more
